Checklist HERE
Box Makeup – Hobby (Search On Ebay) – 5 # Cards, 1 Auto
Print Run – ~3000 hobby cases

SoccerCardsHQ Review – 2023-24 Panini Select Premier League is the 3rd of the 4 Select releases of the year. The format of EPL is the same as all the others. The one thing that is vastly different from the other again this year is the print run. Panini did keep the hobby box print run about the same as last year which they hadn’t done for Serie A and La Liga. That said the print run of those 2 products is roughly half of EPL. It also seems that the blaster print run may have gone up a bit based on the Pink Mojo /325, but I can’t confirm that yet.

While there is nobody on the level on Lamine Yamal, there are some interesting rookies in 2023-24 Panini Select Premier League. Panini finally got Ethan Nwaneri (Search On Ebay) and Adam Wharton (Search On Ebay) into a product so I would consider them the most interesting for now simply due to supply. Wharton is clearly more accomplished at this point, but Nwaneri plays a much more favorable hobby position and is a few years younger. Matheus Franca is another one who makes his rookie debut in this set, but he will likely be a little less hyped. There are also the likes of Kobbie Mainoo, Oscar Bobb and Jhon Duran who get more rookie cards. Sadly none of the notable rookies outside of Lewis Miley, who has suffered a hobby decline, have autos which really hurts the product.

Speaking of the auto checklist…….it’s pretty bad, especially if you are hoping to hit current players. The patch auto checklist is solid. The base autos has a ton of former players most of which don’t carry much value. You should be rooting to hit David Beckham or Zlatan Ibrahimovic if you’re looking for value. Even the Zlatan is from his Manchester United days which weren’t exactly his glory years, but Panini needed to get someone in for people to chase.

The 4 case hits are back this year in case you haven’t opened any of the other Select this year. The designs aren’t getting much love. The print runs for the 4 case hit are Stained Glass ~100 (Search On Ebay), Artistic Impressions and Visionary ~120 and Team Badges ~150. A couple of the rookies do have case hits to chase.

Panini released hobby boxes of 2023-24 Panini Select Premier League today at $255. The print run of this product is 3x as high as 2023-24 Select La Liga and those hobby boxes are down to roughly $300 (Search On Ebay). Another thing I would consider is what 2022-23 Select EPL hobby boxes are selling for. That product seems better than this year’s product. People seem to be pushing back against this listing price like they did with 2023-24 Panini Prizm EPL. At some point Panini will have to realize the fandom of the Premier League does not translate to the increase in print runs it does for EPL products.
